  • Adherence to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

    As a leader in technology services, the Group has established operating locations all over the world, and therefore resolving global sustainable development issues is one of the critical corporate social responsibilities of the Group. The Group utilizes its core capabilities and resources to respond to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) established by the United Nations, which serve as the Group’s objectives for achieving sustainable operations.
    The Group adhered to the “Sustainable Management = EPS+ESG” principle for identification of major SDGs and refinement of targets. Our six main ESG strategies respond to the SDGs, and we work with our upstream suppliers, corporate businesses, and downstream customers to implement the SDGs and work jointly toward our 2030 Agenda.

  • Climate Action 100+

    The Group formally responded to the three goals proposed by the Climate Action 100+ Steering Committee. We not only comply with Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and carbon emission policies of local governments but also continue to strengthen climate change governance, implement actions on GHG emissions, and disclose information in accordance with Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) recommendations to ensure that the GHG emissions throughout the Group's value chain remain consistent with the targets of the Paris Agreement, thereby realizing the goal of net zero GHG emissions by 2050.

  • Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures

    The Paris Agreement, adopted by the United Nations in 2015, sets its goal to limit global warming to well below 2, preferably to 1.5 degrees Celsius, compared to pre-industrial levels. As a corporate citizen, Hon Hai has committed to adopting more active approaches to energy conservation and carbon reduction to achieve the 2050 carbon neutrality target. In 2021, Hon Hai has been a TCFD supporter and committed to work toward the implementation of the TCFD recommendations. Through TCFD, Hon Hai will identify the relevance of climate change to business activities and further disclose its resilience to climate change by combining corporate risk management with scenario analysis of climate shocks.   • Carbon Disclosure Project

    Since 2015, Hon Hai has joined the CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project) to manage and reduce the impact of climate change on the company by measuring and disclosing environmental information.
    In the 2021 Climate Change Questionnaire Response Rating, Hon Hai received the overall management level, of which the individual Climate Governance, Scope 1&2 Emissions and Emission Reduction Initiatives were all awarded the Leadership Level.

  • Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)

    Science-based targets provide companies with a clearly-defined path to reduce GHG emissions, in line with what the latest climate science deems necessary to meet the goals of the Paris Agreement – limiting global warming to well-below 2°C above pre-industrial levels and pursuing efforts to limit warming to 1.5°C. Hon Hai has submitted ambitious 1.5ºC carbon reduction scenario and disclosed it on SBT and CDP websites. Hon Hai cooperates with Carbon Trust consultants for profession methodology to develop emissions reduction target, and expects to be validated and approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) by 2023.
